CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY
CL WERNER HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER
Omaha // Nebraska

At the core of Creighton University’s educational programs is the concept of ‘Cura Personalis,’ or the care of the whole person. The design collaborative began with a health science master planning effort in 2015 to develop and infuse interdisciplinary and interprofessional educational experiences across disciplines and curriculum. The next phase of the master plan implementation is the CL Werner Center for Health Sciences Education which will serve as both the new “front door” to the University’s Omaha campus and home of the School of Medicine and health sciences hub with shared spaces for each of the University’s health sciences schools and colleges.
An investment in the hub propels health science education across campuses

The facility will offer a centralized interdisciplinary simulation center and active group classrooms, bringing together medical, nursing, physician assistant, pharmacy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavioral health and other students to train and learn with – and from – each other. Creighton’s continuous investment in the expansion of its medical education facilities and programs positions the University as the largest Catholic health professions educator in the U.S. The Omaha and Phoenix Health Sciences facilities will practice distance synchronous and asynchronous learning across the flexible technology-infused learning environments on both campuses.
