Infill
creates
connection between communities

Situated in an urban residential neighborhood - CO2 is one of the first projects conceived on the developing 10th Street corridor that connects the adjacent downtown to the growing city to the south. This ambitious projects gave life to the historic Dahlman neighborhood and set the standard for a new layer of growth, design and investment.  As a model for the development, this multi-family housing project is an urban infill solution that provides a fresh energy and culture  that is absorbed and then released into the community, giving new life and growth to its surroundings.

Historical familiarity drove the architectural proportions - signifying this was an evolution of design principles - not a departure. Adjacent structures provide inspiration for exterior function, site organization and opportunities for material abstraction. Context and connection to its surroundings grounds CO2 as a significant project with in the diverse urban fabric.

I grew up celebrating those special family occasions at the steak house next door to Project CO2. “Old school” doesn’t hold up to this place - it is that classic, tired dinning decor, neon lit lounge with thick cuts of Nebraska beef on every plate.
